New improved Alloy flywheel housing for DB2 & 2/4, looks exactly the same as the original from the outside, introduced in 2005, the last batch was made in 2012,  it is now being CNC machined for greater accuracy, of course with greater accuracy comes at a higher price

If you weld a ring into one of the original flwheel housings you run the risk of it cracking as it cools & leaking after installation, THE ONLY way of guaranteeing a leak free engine is to fit one of our housings.

Designed for lip seal use with every known crank style in mind, we have sold over 30 of these with another 15 now being machined (July 19)

We have made this part as we were getting poor quality returned parts in exchange when we sent out the modified housing for our seal conversion & the chance of an oil leak was about 1 in 10, the earlier 2.6ltr design without the ribs is not strong enough for spirited (any ? inc road use) use on the road & can crack

The new flywheel housing has an improved oil drain from the seal to the back of the block, similar to a MkIII - you do have to drill 2 small holes in the block below the crank either side of the bottom web, we have been doing this for years with no problems though.

Shown in the pictures is a fully machined production flywheel housing, Part no. 71709 to fit 2.6ltr & 3 ltr engines with STD cranks (this uses our seal conversion on the crank),

The housing can be supplied as a finished unit or part machined state with just the seal bore to finish, has enough material in the centre for any combination of crank & seal.

We have most of the various crank drawings to manufacture these for most types, but please specify what crank you are using or seal od & position from the back of block mounting face & we can definately identify the right one, we also need the rear cheese od to finish machine the seal bore, etc to final size,

Alternatively we can supply a part finished housing which you can finish machine.
