A Magnetic sump plug for DB2 to AM V8, possibly Virage, 1/2" bsp thread, 1/2" bsf hex for 1/2" bsf socket / spanner, the small but strong magnet catches metallic particles floating around in the sump that the filter doesn't catch.
We were fed up with poor quality drain plugs from various suppliers, we looked at the DB2 solid sump plug & realised that with a little modification it was a superb design, so we redrew it with the flange a little bigger for modern sealing washers, drilled it & fitted a magnet, (DB2 to MkIII cars never had a magnet) then drilled the hex on 3 corners for lockwire - using lockwire is now universal in any form of motorsport, but it can easily be carried out an a roadcar aswell, of course you dont need to use it.
We also looked at the DB4 to V8 sump plug & decided that was poorly made as it didn't seal properly / easily so although not technically correct for a DB4 to AM V8 it works well (the DB4 / AM V8 uses a 3/8" bsf spanner size hexagon, our plug uses a 1/2" bsf spanner hexagon, so helps stop the plug corners rounding off)
Uses modern Dowty self centralising seal (steel outer washer with rubber sealing insert) - sold seperately.
This is an engine accessory that we recommend. When you change your engine oil you can clean the fuzzy collection of iron particles off the magnet. This is especially beneficial during the initial engine break in period when freshly honed cylinder walls and new piston rings are wearing in together.
