Modern cam seal kit consisting of large dia rubber O rings & alloy housing per cam, comes as kit of 2 housings & 4 seals. Replaces cork seals & brass rings.
Installed properly they give a reliable & long lasting leak free seal between the head & timing cover, can be used again, beats silicon sealant & the original cork seals
As used in every engine we have built including our race winning engines since 2004, sold well over 180 pairs.
The camshafts need to come out to replace these, not a simple job but not complicated either if carried out correctly.
You may also need some cam cover gaskets & oil filler cover gaskets then you will need the full kit
Due to the complicated nature of the cam sprockets & correcting the timing to the manufacturers spec when refitting the cams (why not, the car will run better) a vernier adjustable cam sprocket kit may be needed, these need to be used with a Dial Test Indicator Gauge, Magnetic Stand & stand locating plate to bolt to the head with either bsf bolts for the cast iron head or unc bolts for the Alperform alloy head.
