ROAD & FAST ROAD ENGINES

Our Forged High Quality pistons (not cast as others sell) were designed & made exclusively for us in 1985 by one of Britain's leading piston manufacturers, Omega.& we have now redesigned them 5 times since, we don't us US made forged pistons as the quality isnt good enough.

Ufortunatley our competitors have ordered our pistons from Omega then selling 'our' pistons as their pistons, however they have no idea of the package they were designed to be used in so customers can often get themselves into trouble.

All of our own engine rebuilds use the correct piston for the application, if you buy them from us you can have free advice on the best package to fit them to.

We are on version 5 at 83mm for racing & version 2 for road car use.

the 1st version was made in 1985, now with advances in piston shape & design + head & cam mods we are making well over 70 hp more on a 3ltr engine than in 1985.

83mm Dia with 8.6 & 9.5:1 comp ratio (with the right cams) for all 3ltr engines.                                                                                      

FIA Legal 79mm racing pistons with 9.5 or 10.1 compression ratio, gives 2.658cc, available in STD length rod or Long rod design, supplied with liners to fit 3 ltr block (if using a Flint / Vetus 'new' block) - the only way forward if you need HP or 2.6ltr 'special' liners if you have a 2.6 ltr block,

We expect an FIA legal 2.645cc engine with an Alloy head & Weber carbs as allowed under FIA regulations (for a DB2) to give 235 + BHP (a clear 10bhp more than anyone has got before),  this would use a 'new' 2.6ltr block with special liners, 79mm pistons & full 3 ltr bottom end, more news in 2015, these pistons are for our 'built' engines only because of the complexity of putting the engine together.

We are no longer stocking 78mm Dia Pistons so use the 80.5mm kits.

Special 80.5mm Dia piston & liner kits for 2.6ltr engine, direct replacement for STD items, no block mods, uses original design of headgasket - gives 2.747 ltr. Special connecting rods also available.

In dyno testing at a prominent AM specialist in January 2012, a 2.750cc engine using the above 80.5mm pistons & our special liners, steel connecting rods, 1.72" inlet valves, 1.570" exhaust valves, a very quickly blended rather than ported Cast Iron head, very tame cams set up for driveability, twin std SU 1.75" carbs & manifolds has given 172 bhp @ 5500 rpm & 166 lbs ft torque @ 3000 rpm , with 155lbs ft @2050 & 162lbs ft @5500 rpm respectively,

Another 2.750 cc engine has been built with our Service Dept 3 SU Inlet Manifold, this gave 192 bhp & 181 lbs ft of torque @ 4500rpm with 160 lbs ft of torque at just 2000 rpm,  this used a fully ported head & same cams as above.

2 more engines using these pistons, fully ported heads, same cams but set up as the 3 SU carb engine, but with Weber carbs & our short manifolds are expected to give 195 bhp & 200 lbs torque - these will be dyno tested in May 2015.

All of the above pistons are easily the best pistons we have ever used on Feltham engines including Cosworth ones which were too heavy & they burnt a lot of oil, we have used various US pistons & they dont last long either.

Full race for use with FIA 2.6ltr engines are totally new, to save weight & improve power output, in early 2015 with 2.9ltr being next.
