Back in 1985 it was found that the oilways in the VB6 series block were too small & the oil pump mounting face has a restriction, this leads premature failure of the oil pump jackshaft skew gear & oil pump / distributor drive gear.
We have the specialist knowledge, very heavy duty drilling machine (we have burnt 2 hd drills in the last 3 years), drills, tools & oil way plugs to carry this modification out on your own block with little chance of running out of the oilway & drilling through into fresh air as other AM specialists have done, then we pressure test the modified galleries, up to & including the oil pressure relief valve afterwards
Work carried out subject to block being in good condition.
We realised after reading the AML Test reports for the DBA engine in 1956 (which are in our possession) that AML had realised this but didn't do anything about it until the MkIII, however in recent years we have found it necessary to modify these blocks aswell for improved oil flow.
NOTE: Early DB2 2.6ltr oilways sometimes break through anyway, we have a solution for this aswell.
