Description

We have started making our own Solid 'cheeses' the alloy main bearing housings that fit around the crankshaft, this is because the quality is sadly lacking in what we bought in.

The cast Alloy cheese's fitted to the DB2 & DB2/4 engines were not strong enough  were made originally, before long with MkIII production, AML fitted solid 3 bolt cheese's to DBA, DBD & DBB engines, this is because the rise in power gave problem's with fretting of the bearings, the Racing Dept soon realised that they needed more support & easier assembly so specified a 4 Bolt Design.

Our Cheese's are made from Special Thermally Stable Alloy, with 4 bolts & nuts holding them together like the Works Racing Engines in the 1950's.

What makes ours special,                                                                                                          1).  the 4 bolts & nuts for a start,

2)  we have noticed that the quality of the main bearings themselves isnt as good now as they were originally,  so we have redesigned the housing to give more bearing support & easier assembly, this improves the 'fit' of the bearing in the cheese,

3)  we consider the oil feed on the cheese isnt big enough on our competitors products, we know that volume / flow of the oil is better than pressure, so we have increased the bore to the original AML size.
