Note that our Weber long inlet manifold has just got even better than before, we have made the head side of the manifold align as best as possible with the ports whilst keeping the Weber carb alignment very good, making our 20th century manifolds machined with 21st century technology.
Complete Le Mans inlet manifolds to take either 40 or 45 DCOE Carburettors, linkage & fitting kit, this is a comprehensive kit of parts.
We rarely make specific 40DCOE inlet manifolds any longer as they will be a parallel bore, 40mm at the carb end & 40mm (or even worse 40mm at the carb end & 42mm at the port on a DB series CI head) at the head face, this is WRONG as there should be a small taper from the carb mounting face to the head face to help speed the gas up, in fact we picked up a few horsepower by using 40DCOE carbs on our inclined 45DCOE inlet manifolds because of the taper & slight turbulence induceed by the mismatch on the carb to manifolds, one other thing is 45DCOE carbs work better than 40DCOE carbs when using 34mm chokes (the correct size for a 3ltr Feltham Aston road car engine, 32mm on a 2.6ltr)
This kit is a Four Ashes product, but sold through other leading AM specialists, for DB2 2.6ltr to 2.9 DB2/4 MkII (VB6series) through to 2.9ltr DB MkIII (DB series) engines inc DB3 & production DB3S with single plug heads.
These manifold kits are easily the best on the market !! Our manifolds are bored internally instead of rough cast, have proper bearings for the throttle linkage + many other things better than other manifolds.
Why buy off other companies who have never seen or worked an a DB2 or 2/4 engine.
Our inlet manifolds were the 1st aftermarket Weber cast alloy inlet manifolds & they are still the best - tried, tested & improved since the 1st kit made for a production DB3S in August 1986
Based on the original DB3S design from the Production DB3S, very similar to the works DB3S as used at Le Mans, these manifolds are cast in alloy specially for us from our own patterns.
These appear to be the optimum length, this has been noted after dyno testing of at least 25 or more of our engines so equipped, & a few of the opposition's inlet manifolds which appear to be not as good, in fact quite poor.
They are supplied as a comprehensive kit with linkages, special manifold to head gaskets, and full fitting instructions, everything you need to fit the kit.
Please Note: there are now 5 different inlet manifold stud to port variations & we have jigs to drill them all.
Please specify which cylinder head (whether cast iron, of which there is only 2 types, VB6 series or DB series, or alloy, of which there are 3 types, VB6 series, or DB series STD or DB series Competition) & carb type / size required.
Fuel rails for each application are suppled in this kit, and the STD braided carburrettor supply hose can also be supplied at extra cost.
Uses STD throttle cable without alteration.
Supplied with carb choke blanking plates in stainless with gaskets.
Fully tested with over 30 kits sold, as used on any of our Weber equipped road or race engines.
Manufactured to ensure optimum clearance for carbs and air cleaners or an air box, this easily misses the chassis rail, but you need to alter the bulkhead, bonnet frame & inner wing.
We supply short versions (about 55mm) of these manifolds for DCOE & DCO3 carbs, will give comparison report (against longer type) on these after 1st dyno runs at the end of June 2012, these will be even easier to fit, these also fit Lagonda's - we had an enquiry recently.
Note: Weber carbs not supplied with kit. Order seperately.
We also supply New Weber DCOE 40/45 carburettors and New 45 DCO 3 Carburettors, supplied by a good friend of ours, Norman Seeney, these Weber 45 DCO3 carbs work properly, we cannot vouch for any other maker of DCO3 carbs.
We also give out basic advice for carb settings to get you running if we sell you the manifolds or carbs, we sell Weber carburettor spares including, main jets, air correctors, idle jets, and chokes.
