The Story

In October 2015 the FIA (the Motorsport Ruling Body) made a ruling that to race or rally FIA legal DB2s & DB2/4s in FIA sanctioned events they must run period style sand cast FIA Weber DCO 3 carburettors & cast alloy inlet manifolds.

For a DB2/4 you should be able to use 40 DCO 3s as Patsy Burt had a DB3S head/engine fitted by Pippbrook Garage (Rob Walkers company) to her DB2/4 & competed in the Oulton Park Gold Cup International meeting in 1956.

In response

We have produced 60 of these superb cast alloy FIA Weber 40 DCO 3 Inlet Manifolds for VB6 engines, these take only the smaller DCO 3 carbs with 82mm throttle body spacing which isn't the same as the 45DCO 3 or any later DCOE carbs at 90mm, cast from an original pattern with only minor mods & tidying up.

They are approx 120mm long (best length after a lot of dyno testing) the throttle towers are bored 8mm so you use a 5/16" throttle bar, the carb mounting flanges are fitted with 8mm Wurth Timeserts to spread the load in the alloy, these are similar to Helicoils which also spread the load (and can also be used to repair threads in damaged parts)

These manfolds use our superb fully tested throttle linkage which then uses the original AM throttle cable.

Options

A threaded boss that uses a banjo union & bolt from a DB5 for a brake servo can be had on one manifold if needed, specify - note that a brake servo vacuum reservoir might be needed & of course the banjo bolt, union, copper washers & one way valve, Part no's : 20-33-122 bolt,  48-33-123 banjo, 690418 x 2 copper washer, 48-33-122 non return valve

They are available for alloy heads or cast iron heads, please specify.

 The DCO 3 is the carb type shown in the photo below, THIS is the only type of Weber carburettor the FIA will allow,
