The DBD inlet manifold from our DBD conversion kit sold on its own with no other parts, however we supply instructions, all we need to know is the head its being fitted to so we can machine it.
This enables the owner or specialist to sort out the parts as he see's fit.
Notes on our DBD Inlet Manifold:
Reverse Engineered & Copied externally & exactly from an original pattern & designed for use with both the original Cast Iron or Alperform Alloy heads,
Has a better shape & smaller ID in the port than the original manifold. because of this smaller internal port the gas speed is much higher, so torque & power are up from just over tickover all the way up the rev range, the original inlet manifold was a poor performer with more power the a DBA only at higher rpm because of the large port.
With a ported Alperfom head, fast road cams, high compression pistons we have produced an engine with over 220bhp & 200lbs ft of torque.
Can also be specified for DB2 & DB2/4 at the time of ordering.
Note that this kit requires bonnet frame & bulkhead mods.
Sold as an Inlet Manifold only, with 2 pack black painted manifold if required.
It doesn't contain any of the coolant, balance pipe or SU carb parts, nor linkages that we use in our full DBD conversion.
Not cheap but a brilliant looking manifold.
Could also be used with 6 fuel injectors fitted on the underside of the manifold (out of sight) with the carbs being used for metering air only, various other parts (hardware & software) would be needed but it would pass Inner City Low Emissions Limits
We have produced a copy of the short 3 carb inlet manifold for 1.75" SU's as fitted to the DB2, DB2/4 MkI & 2/4 MkII by the service dept, this was the conversion that allows a 2/4 MkII to race, possibly Internationally as in period, its been tested & the performance is very good with over 200 bhp being easily obtainable.
NOTE our DBD inlet manifolds can be easily converted for fuel injection which wouldn't be seen from above, this would then use the throttle plate in the original SU carb as the throttle body, the SU floats & jets wouldn't be operative. Avery easy simple solution to the increasing legislation for classic cars.
