New MKIII DBD type 3 x 1.75" SU inlet manifold conversion kits.
Reverse Engineered & Copied externally exactly from an original pattern & designed for use with both the original Cast Iron or Alperform Alloy heads,
This manifold has a far better internal shape & smaller internal diameter in the port than the original manifold which doesn't work very well at low engine speeds as the port internal diameter is too large & the wrong shape, both of which made the original inlet manifold a poor performer with more power the a DBA only at higher rpm because of the large port.
Because of the smaller internal port on our manifold the gas speed is much higher, so torque & power are up from just over tickover all the way up the rev range,
With a ported Alperfom head, fast road cams, high compression pistons we have produced a road car engine with a whopping 236bhp & 230lbs ft of torque @ 4600rpm with 197lbs ft at just 2600 rpm, tested on a very accurate dyno & a conservative rolling road, see Dyno & Rolling Road Sheets, on the rolling road sheet the measurements were taken in Overdrive Top Gear for some reason. !! note that the STD DBD horsepower is surpassed at roughly 4300 rpm on the Dyno sheet.
Can also be specified for DB2 & DB2/4 at the time of ordering.
Most parts were specially made for manifold kit to look exactly as original, the latest part being the 3/4bsp- 1/2bsp double ended coolant union.
